Summer Solstice

Cut out outfits are a great way to show skin this summer, and keep that little bit warmer this summer (because it's actually still freezing in the shade). This dress from 6KS is a floaty babydoll design - not my usual, but the mesh embroidered fabric is gorgeous, and the design is flattering on any figure - it hangs off the shoulders rather than from below the bust. It's the kind of dress you can just throw on to ramble around in or dress up for a party. It's only really fitted on the shoulders, which is definitely a classy way of showing off a figure. But the flounciness and floral pattern keeps it girly and fun. I decided to keep the palette neutral, adding a tan bag and wooden heels to brighten up the colours; the feathers worked well with this, and swept over hair balanced out the mixed the look up a bit. I matched the pewter leather with my mushroom nail paint (unknowingly, but it was my most neutral varnish so it worked!). I felt the red lipstick complimented the colour my hair goes in the sun (L'oreal casting creme gloss - chocolate) It's the first outfit in a while I've posted where I'm not wearing black... so proud!
